CONGRESSIONAL INFORMATION
Because most decisions that affect population size are made at
the federal level it is very important that you let Senators
Sanders and Leahy and Congressman Welch know where you stand
on the issues. Most votes that come up are on a very short notice
so phone calls and faxes are the best ways to communicate with
their Washington office. You can sign up to quickly send faxes
on immigration issues though Numbers USA.com They send you an
alert, you go to their web site where they have three alternate
letters you can send on the issue, you pick a letter and add
any personal comments you want, and Numbers sends the fax.. The
whole thing takes less than five minutes. At times it is good
to call in addition to or in place of the fax so here are the
Washington numbers. Unless you know a local office staff person
it is a waste of time to call there as they generally are not
that familiar with the issue and they may or may not relay your
message to the Washington office. When you do call just tell
the person who answers the phone what the issue is and how and
why you want the Senator or Congressman to vote a certain way.
