Population Study 2009
2009 ANNUAL REPORT
Although we are a very small and all volunteer organization we were able to accomplish a great deal including the following:
- Several letters-to-the-editor and op-eds written by members were published in the state’s newspapers.
- The executive director and a board member attended the annual Population Strategy conference in Washington D.C. which was very informative and inspiring.
- Adopted our fourth detailed policy statement, this one on the environment, and it is on our web site.
- Completed research on and compiled a chronological history of the U.S. and New England Population Movement which surprisingly had apparently never been done before and received worldwide attention. This took months of work. It is also on our web site.
- Appeared on a Burlington cable TV program hosted by
- Helped organize a very successful Global Population Speak Out Month forum held in February and sponsored by the Montpelier Bridge which also published a special edition on this topic, the only one in the world!
- Our web site was constantly updated and is now very high quality and is probably one of the most unique, transparent and detailed web sites of any environmental organization.
